Who influences you as a Creative Person?

Who influences you as a Creative Person? - A question that took me a while to answer. Why? Because I could not decide there are so many creatives out there that are producing content that takes me off my feet every day. So, because this was so hard for me to answer I would have to go with a group of people who influences me out as a creative person that group is Ball State Sports Link. I chose sports link because it amazes me how the university put together a group of 50 or so people students at that to share ideas and bounce off of each other and then let them go make their ideas real. The thing that causes them to inspire me is the fact that is mainly student ran. With the resources we have students are able to use the binary terms with their work and how they want to go about it. Listed is the Trey Uetrecht Story, (https://youtu.be/8XK1bVGotPE) in this story it uses Tension and Release. There was a lot of things that happened in this video that that are graphic but the way the Sports Link directors told the story it was possible for them to use the binary terms. The team first introduce that story and what was happening with our subject which was the tension part, at the end they laid out what Trey was doing now to be involved with was releasing the story in a creative way.

Another example the team produced include text and subtext in these two pieces we wanted to highlight a day in the life as a Ball State football player. (https://twitter.com/ballstatefb/status/1563238558714183681?s=21&t=DAUIrwryvEvLnxpHURtNVw ) over the video there was text to what the player and coach said to give more context of video. At practice in this “Mic’ed up” video the purpose was to highlight what quarterback John Paddock says and goes through at practice. The video was shot and edited by Peyton Monell, when asked him what his plan was he told “I wanted to make it seem like our QB1 was fun.” The idea behind this is what inspires me. I think it is cool to have one person highlight what they do in a single day. The thing about it is you can take one person and what they do in a day in turn it into a minute worth of content.

For another text and subtext example I chose another Sports Link produced “Mic’ed up” video. This one was shot by somone in our class Cameron Clift it was Coach Hall. (https://twitter.com/ballstatefb/status/1562146892905054215?s=21&t=DAUIrwryvEvLnxpHURtNVw) When I asked Cam about his thought process behind this video he told me it was easy, he said “it was the fact that we have mic’ed up player videos why not coaches?” He told me following coach around for a whole practice was fun you get to watch and see football from a different perspective. That is why I couldn’t choose just one person to say “Who influences you as a Creative Person?” If you look at the content, we produce its better than anywhere else. The reason these people inspire me is because being a part of the program means a lot to me and the university. Seeing their work makes me want to produce a lot of my own, with this program it is nice to be able to use the resources to produce creative content.
