Brainwashed but Not

In the reading it talks about success and what you are surrounded by to make you successful. "Look around you. Who are the successful people in our world today? It’s not the Jack Welch, captain-of-industry type, nor is it the pension-earning, go-to-work-every-day-for-fifty-years factory man." The article mentioned was telling readers about how there are many ways to be successful and that we today as society are "Brainwashed" by it.

"Brainwashed into believing a set of rules that aren’t true" there are plenty of new opportunities everyday that can help one be on track to be successful and the rules have changed on what is required to be. Do the work that matters and everything will be in good hands.

One of the Seven things the author mentioned to help that stuck out to me was "Connections" this was important to me because when you meet people in the field or same industry as you, (Media for example) they get it. They understand the work you are doing and can help you or give feed back, and maybe one day they could be your boss or help get you a job. The writer said "Social media is either a time-wasting, wool-gathering, yak-shaving waste of effort or, perhaps, just maybe, it’s a crack in the wall between you and the rest of the world. It’s a choice... up to you." This was iffy because posting your work (assuming thats what you would do) could help build a profile for yourself and get your name out that you know what your doing and you can back it up.
